Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HomeLabLink uses information when you connect to and monitor services in your own homelab or network.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
Information HomeLabLink Uses
HomeLabLink uses information that you provide to configure the app and communicate with services you choose. Depending on the connectors you configure, this information may include:
- Connector and service names;
- Hostnames, IP addresses, ports, and URLs;
- User-selected settings, groups, and monitoring configuration; and
- Authentication credentials, API tokens, or API keys required by a connector.
This configuration is intended to be stored locally on your Android device. HomeLabLink does not intentionally transmit your connector configuration or credentials to Reel Memories.
Local Network and Connector Data
HomeLabLink primarily communicates directly between your Android device and the homelab services you configure. These connections may occur over your local network or through a network path, such as a user-configured VPN, that you control.
The app may request local network access, connect to configured service APIs, perform user-initiated network discovery or scanning, and open external administration interfaces or links. Information returned by your services is used to display status, metrics, and management information in the app.
Your use of a third-party homelab service or connector remains subject to that service's own configuration, security, and privacy practices.
Credentials and Authentication
When a connector requires authentication, HomeLabLink uses the credentials, API token, or API key you provide to communicate with that service. Credentials are not intentionally sent to the developer. You are responsible for choosing appropriate service permissions, protecting your Android device, and securing access to your network.
Where possible, use a dedicated account or token with only the permissions HomeLabLink needs. Remove saved connectors or clear the application's data if you no longer want configuration retained on the device.
Analytics and Diagnostic Data
No advertising, Firebase Analytics, or developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting service is documented in the application materials available for this Privacy Policy. HomeLabLink does not intentionally send usage analytics or crash reports to Reel Memories.
Android, Google Play, your device manufacturer, and network or service providers may process technical information under their own terms and privacy policies. Platform-level diagnostics can also depend on your device and Google Play settings.
Google Play and Purchases
Google Play processes information associated with downloading, installing, updating, and licensing Android applications under Google's own privacy policy. Reel Memories does not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play. If HomeLabLink offers a Google Play purchase, Google processes the transaction and may provide the app with purchase status or a transaction identifier needed to enable the purchased feature.
Notifications and Background Monitoring
If you enable monitoring or alerts, HomeLabLink may perform background work and use Android notifications to report status changes for configured services. Android may provide controls for notification permission, battery optimization, and background activity. You can change these controls in system settings and can disable monitoring or notifications in the app where available.
Data Sharing
Reel Memories does not intentionally sell or share your HomeLabLink connector configuration, credentials, or locally displayed homelab data. Information is transmitted to the services and network destinations you configure so the app can perform the actions you request.
Data may also be disclosed if required by applicable law or a valid legal process. Because the core configuration is designed to remain on your device rather than a developer-operated server, Reel Memories may not possess data to disclose.
Data Retention
Locally stored settings and connector information may remain on your device until you remove the relevant connector, clear the application's storage, or uninstall HomeLabLink. Data retained by a configured homelab service is controlled by that service and its administrator. Google Play retains platform and transaction information according to Google's policies.
Data Security
HomeLabLink is designed to communicate with systems you select, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device with an appropriate screen lock, keep Android and your services updated, use encrypted connections when supported, limit connector permissions, and avoid exposing private administration interfaces directly to the public internet.
Children's Privacy
HomeLabLink is a technical utility and is not directed to children under 13. Reel Memories does not knowingly collect personal information from children through HomeLabLink. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact Reel Memories so the concern can be reviewed.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to HomeLabLink, its connectors, applicable requirements, or privacy practices. The revised policy will be published at this URL with an updated date.
