How UPSLink handles local settings, network connections, and UPS monitoring information.

Overview

UPSLink is an Android application designed to monitor UPS devices through NUT (Network UPS Tools) and compatible upsd servers. The application helps users monitor UPS status, battery health, runtime, and power events from systems they configure themselves.

UPSLink is designed to minimize data collection and avoid the unnecessary collection of personal information.

Local Storage

UPSLink stores the following information locally on your device:

  • NUT server connection details
  • UPS display names
  • Widget selections and configuration
  • Notification preferences
  • Monitoring settings

UPSLink does not require:

  • User account creation
  • Application login credentials
  • User profiles
  • Cloud-based registration

Network Access

UPSLink connects directly to NUT servers configured by the user.

The application may use local network access to:

  • Discover compatible NUT servers
  • Connect to configured NUT servers
  • Retrieve UPS status information

All connections occur directly between the application and the user-configured UPS monitoring server.

UPS Monitoring Data

UPSLink may retrieve and display UPS monitoring information including:

  • Battery percentage
  • Remaining runtime
  • UPS load
  • Input and output voltage
  • UPS status indicators
  • Battery replacement recommendations
  • Other standard NUT status attributes

This information is used solely to provide monitoring, notifications, and widget functionality.

UPSLink does not intentionally transmit UPS monitoring data to third-party servers.

Notifications and Widgets

UPSLink may generate local device notifications for:

  • Power outages
  • Low battery conditions
  • Low runtime warnings
  • Connection issues
  • Battery replacement recommendations

UPSLink may also provide Android home screen widgets displaying UPS information selected by the user.

All notifications and widget data are generated from information retrieved from user-configured UPS devices.

Data Sharing and Sale

UPSLink does not sell personal information.

UPSLink does not share personal information with third parties for:

  • Advertising
  • Marketing
  • Analytics
  • Data brokerage

Personal Data Collection

UPSLink is designed to operate without collecting unnecessary personal information.

The application's primary purpose is to monitor user-configured UPS devices and provide local monitoring, notifications, and widget functionality.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically as UPSLink evolves and new features are introduced.
