Privacy Policy

UptiLink is designed to monitor your network without turning your network information into somebody else’s data.

Last updated July 12, 2026

Local-first storage

Monitor configurations, host details and monitoring history are stored on your device.

No advertising

UptiLink does not sell personal information or use your monitoring data for targeted advertising.

You remain in control

You can edit or delete saved monitors and remove locally stored app data at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how UptiLink (“UptiLink,” “the app,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use the UptiLink Android application. By using the app, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1 Overview

UptiLink is a network and uptime monitoring application for Android. It can monitor user-configured devices, servers, websites and other network hosts using methods such as ping, DNS, HTTP or HTTPS, and TCP connection checks.

UptiLink is designed as a local-first application. The developer does not operate a UptiLink account system or cloud monitoring service. Your saved monitoring configuration and monitoring results remain on your device unless you deliberately export or share them.

UptiLink does not sell personal information, monitor your general browsing activity, or use your network information for targeted advertising.

2 Information handled by UptiLink

Monitor and network information

To provide its core functionality, UptiLink may process information you enter or discover through the app, including:

  • Hostnames, domain names and IP addresses;
  • Ports, URLs and monitoring protocols;
  • User-created monitor names, groups and notes;
  • Device names and network discovery results;
  • Response status, latency, availability and failure information;
  • Monitoring schedules, notification settings and maintenance or pause status;
  • Wi-Fi network names selected for Wi-Fi-specific monitoring rules; and
  • Locally generated monitoring history and diagnostic information.

This information is used to perform the monitoring functions you request. It is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to a UptiLink-operated server.

Information you provide when requesting support

When you contact the developer by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots or diagnostic details. This information is used only to respond to your request, investigate the reported issue and provide support.

3 Device permissions and access

Depending on your Android version and the features you choose to use, UptiLink may request or use the following permissions and system capabilities:

Internet and network access

UptiLink requires network access to contact the hosts, websites and services you configure for monitoring and to discover compatible devices on your local network.

Local network and Wi-Fi information

UptiLink may access local network connection information to discover devices, determine whether monitoring should run on a selected Wi-Fi network and display relevant connectivity status.

On certain Android versions, Android may associate access to Wi-Fi network names or nearby network information with a location-related permission. UptiLink does not use this access to determine, track or store your physical location.

Notifications

Notification permission is used to display monitoring status, service activity, host-down warnings, recovery alerts and other notifications you enable. You can change notification permissions through Android settings.

Foreground and background operation

UptiLink may use Android foreground-service and background scheduling capabilities to continue performing enabled monitoring checks when the app is not open. Android may display a persistent notification while monitoring is active.

Battery optimization settings

The app may direct you to Android system settings where you can choose whether to exempt UptiLink from battery optimization. UptiLink cannot change this setting without your action.

Permissions are requested only when needed for app functionality. You can deny or revoke permissions through Android settings, although doing so may prevent related features from working correctly.

4 How information is used

Information processed by UptiLink is used to:

  • Create, configure and manage the monitors you request;
  • Check whether configured hosts and services are reachable;
  • Measure response time and record availability history;
  • Discover devices and services on your local network;
  • Run or pause monitoring based on your selected Wi-Fi network;
  • Display dashboards, status information and home-screen widgets;
  • Generate monitoring, outage and recovery notifications;
  • Preserve your settings and monitoring history locally; and
  • Diagnose problems when you voluntarily request support.

5 Information sharing and disclosure

UptiLink does not sell or rent your personal information. The developer does not receive your locally stored monitor configurations or monitoring history through a UptiLink cloud service.

Information may be disclosed only in limited situations:

  • When you deliberately export, copy, send or share information from the app;
  • When you voluntarily include information in a support request;
  • When necessary to comply with an applicable legal obligation or valid legal process; or
  • When reasonably necessary to protect users, the developer, or others from fraud, abuse or security threats.

6 Google Play and third-party services

UptiLink is distributed through Google Play and may use Google Play functionality for app installation, updates, purchase verification, licensing and other store-related services.

Google may independently process information associated with your Google Play use, device, transactions or app activity according to Google’s own privacy terms. That processing is controlled by Google rather than UptiLink.

You can review the Google Privacy Policy for more information.

When UptiLink checks a hostname, website, server or other destination that you configure, the destination and the network providers involved in completing the connection may receive ordinary network request information, such as your device’s public IP address, request timing and protocol-related information. This is an inherent part of making a network connection and is not a transfer to a UptiLink-operated server.

7 Data storage, retention and deletion

Monitor configurations, settings and monitoring history are retained locally for as long as they remain saved in the app.

You can remove information by deleting individual monitors, clearing applicable history, resetting the app, clearing UptiLink’s storage through Android settings or uninstalling the app.

Exported backups or configuration files are stored in the location you choose and remain under your control. Removing the app does not necessarily remove copies that you previously exported or shared.

Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain support records, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

8 Security

UptiLink uses reasonable measures intended to protect information handled by the app. Because monitoring data is primarily stored on your device, its security also depends on your device, Android configuration, backup settings and access controls.

No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device with appropriate authentication and avoid exporting sensitive network details to untrusted locations or recipients.

9 Children’s privacy

UptiLink is a technical network-monitoring utility and is not directed toward children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a UptiLink-operated account or cloud service.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly to the developer through a support request, please contact us so the information can be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.

10 Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to UptiLink, its functionality, applicable requirements or privacy practices.

The current version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or its Google Play listing where appropriate.
